The whole experience has been a dream. From the initial discussions with eco designs who made our thoughts and visions into a beautiful reality. Eco Designs provided us with a detailed design of how each area of the garden would function, ideas of how it would look and managed to capture the finer details of the garden and make it work together wonderfully. Eco Designs came to visit throughout to check how the garden was progressing. Their passion and love of plants, gardens and landscapes reassured us that it would all come together well.

Eco Designs were an absolute pleasure to work with. Their hard work and advice helped me to realise my dream garden… The result exceeded all my expectations and the recommended contractors were fabulous. Many many thanks.

Stages of a Garden Design
01. Consultation & Brief
Contact us for a free consultation call where we’ll discuss your needs and ambitions.
We can explore ideas and discuss how you would like to use your garden to form the basis of the design brief, discuss budget and timeframes. This can take place via a video call, shared photos of your garden or we can discuss arranging a visit to your home
02. Survey & Concept Design
Every garden design we undertake starts with a full site survey. Depending on the garden’s complexity, we may recommend additional surveys such as a topographical survey, Ordnance Survey , or specialist tree assessments - carried out by trusted professionals.
You’ll receive a colour concept plan, mood board, suggested materials, plants and sometimes 3D visualisations.
03. Technical Design
After the concept garden design has been approved, we move on to producing a comprehensive set of construction drawings. These detailed plans outline how the space will be laid out, how individual features will be built, and which materials will be used. Typically created using computer-aided design software, these technical drawings provide contractors with the exact information needed to accurately price and construct the project.
04. Tender
Once the detailed construction drawings are complete, they are shared with selected contractors to enable accurate pricing for the garden build. Depending on your location, we may recommend a trusted contractor or invite up to three reputable firms to submit competitive tenders for the project.
05. Construction
Once construction begins, we manage the project through to completion, working closely with the contractors to ensure the garden is built exactly as designed. Regular site visits allow us to monitor progress, address any issues promptly, and make adjustments to the design if needed. You’ll be kept fully informed throughout the process - no changes will be made without your approval, and any additional costs will be discussed and agreed in advance.
06. Planting
As part of the garden design process, we can supply the specification, and design layout of all plants on a detailed plan. Our approach is to create custom planting schemes, thoughtfully tailored to suit the character and conditions of each individual garden.
